We bowl every Sunday afternoon. There may be a combination of club championships and social bowls.  Visitors are most welcome and it is possible to get a game on just about any Sunday. We also welcome anyone who would like to give this great sport a try. There are bowls available for anyone who doesn’t have there own, this includes sets of junior bowls for the younger ones who want to give bowls a try. In order to encourage people who may have a problem holding a bowl the club has invested in 2 bowling arms which are available for loan so you can give them a try.

PLAYING FACILITIES

Our green is a needle punch carpet with retractable shades. This is the first green of its type in the Port Curtis District. It predates Calliope Central by 2 days. The laying of the carpet has greatly reduced the mainenance required to maintain the standard of the green. It also means that the green is available for play any day of the week and all year round.

The shade makes for a more comfortable playing environment in the hotter months. It goes from full sun to covered in less than 2 minutes.

COMPETITIONS

Mens competitions run from January to December. The call for the 2024 competitions is now on the noticeboard. We play singles, pairs, triples, fours and mixed pairs.  Due to the number of newer bowlers a B grade singles is being run again this year. Nominations will be called for this once the usual competitions are underway. Competition draws are available online in the members area so bowlers are able check on what games are to be played.

Players are encouraged to arrange their own games to work in with their other commitments.
